How tall should a side table be next to a sofa or armchair?
Aim to match the height of the sofa or armchair armrest, give or take 2-3 cm. Most armrests sit 55-65 cm from the floor, so a side table in that range is right for most lounges. Too low and you reach down for a cup; too high and it dominates the chair.
Do side tables have to be sold or used in pairs?
No. We sell every side table individually. Matching pairs at either end of a sofa look symmetrical and formal; a single table on one side is more relaxed and frees up floor space on the other.
Can a side table be used as a bedside table?
Yes - it is a common swap when bedrooms are tight on space. Aim for a top that sits within 5 cm of the mattress height for easy reach. Side tables without drawers can be paired with a small basket underneath for storage.
