Frequently Asked Questions About Sideboards
Where in the home do people usually put a sideboard?
Most often along a dining-room wall for cutlery, serving dishes and tablecloths, or in a living room as a low storage piece under wall art or a TV. The top is also useful as a buffet surface when entertaining.
How wide should a sideboard be relative to the wall it sits against?
As a rule of thumb, leave at least 30-40 cm of clear wall on either side so the piece does not look crammed. A sideboard taking up 60-75% of the wall is usually the most balanced. The product pages list overall width and depth so you can measure your wall first.
Can your sideboards be used as a TV stand?
Many sideboards work well as a media unit. Check the top dimensions on the product page against your TV stand width (TVs are usually measured by screen diagonal, so allow extra for the TV feet or wall-mount base). If you plan to hide a Sky box, soundbar or consoles inside, confirm the internal compartment height and any rear cable openings before ordering - contact us if it is not clear.
